Chai is the French term, particularly in Bordeaux, for a wine cellar or the location where wine is stored. Often an above ground structure used for wine storage and aging.
In Hebrew, Chai means "Life" and is one of the most recognizable symbols of Judaism. A common Jewish toast is “L’chaim!,” which means, “To Life!.” It is said at celebrations in anticipation of all the good things to come.
